Yoga for Mental Health & Stress Management
Trauma-Informed Yoga Classes for Mind, Body, and Nervous System Support
Our yoga offerings are designed to support mental health, emotional regulation, and stress reduction through gentle, intentional practices. These classes are especially supportive for individuals navigating stress, anxiety, trauma, or burnout, and are offered in a way that prioritizes safety, choice, and self-awareness. Classes are trauma-informed, accessible, and led by trained teachers who create a welcoming, non-judgmental space for all participants—no prior yoga experience required.
Our Approach
We integrate yoga with mindfulness-based stress reduction techniques to help calm the nervous system, improve body awareness, and foster a sense of grounding and inner balance. Rather than focusing on performance or flexibility, our classes emphasize gentle movement, breath, rest, and mindful presence.
All classes are designed to:
⇒Support emotional regulation and nervous system health
⇒Reduce stress, anxiety, and mental overwhelm
⇒Encourage reconnection with the body in a safe, supportive way
⇒Honor individual choice, pacing, and comfort
Class Styles Offered
Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga is a slow, gentle practice where postures are held for longer periods of time, allowing the body to release tension and the nervous system to settle. This practice supports deep relaxation, increased flexibility, and mindfulness, making it especially helpful for stress management and emotional grounding.
Yoga Nidra
Yoga Nidra, often called “yogic sleep,” is a guided meditation practiced while resting comfortably. It promotes deep relaxation and can help reduce anxiety, improve sleep, and support emotional healing. This practice allows the body to rest while the mind remains gently aware.
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Techniques
Classes incorporate evidence-based mindfulness practices such as breath awareness, grounding exercises, body scans, and gentle meditation. These techniques help build awareness of thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations while supporting stress resilience and emotional balance.
Trauma-Informed & Mental Health-Focused
All yoga classes are thoughtfully tailored with trauma-informed principles, including:
⇒Emphasis on choice and personal autonomy
⇒Clear, invitational language
⇒No hands-on adjustments unless explicitly requested
⇒Options for modifications and rest
⇒Respect for individual boundaries and lived experiences
Our trained teachers understand the connection between trauma, stress, and the
nervous system, and they facilitate classes with compassion, sensitivity, and care.
